How Jorge Reversed Diabetes

Have you met our JKD Kickboxing and Krav Maga instructor, Jorge Castillo?

Jorge was one of our very first members. He joined the RFC community back in 2016, first as an athlete and later as a self-defense instructor.

Watching Jorge take full control of his health has been inspiring. He has lost about 80 pounds, but the physical changes are not the only positive results he has gotten.

Even more important than dropping inches off your waist is FEELING healthy.

Jorge used CrossFit and healthy eating habits to reverse diabetes type 2.


YES, reverse diabetes!


He also controlled his cholesterol levels and reversed fatty liver disease.

"CrossFit for me is synonymous with health. The CrossFit methodology has taught me to be patient and consistent if I want to see the results.

Before starting CrossFit, I had been diagnosed with diabetes, high cholesterol and triglyceride levels, fatty liver, and high blood pressure.

I weighed over 280lbs and my doctor told me that my problems would be solved if I lost weight.

When I got serious about my health I decided to start CrossFit and eat better, cleaner.

The results were not overnight. I have been training CrossFit for 5 years and I have lost weight in a healthy way with consistency.

I am currently weighing 205lbs and had set out to break the 200lbs threshold by 2022, so I am close to meeting my personal goal.

Today my sugar and cholesterol levels are at normal levels and I no longer have a fatty liver."
